Dell C2660dn Colour Laser Printer Review

The Dell C2660dn is a single function A4 colour laser printer. With a bulky frame that weighs 25.6Kg, it still manages to be a compact desktop that measures only 17.3 inches wide, 14.9 inches tall and 19.1 inches deep. Paper handling is managed by a standard paper feeder can handle 250 sheets and a multipurpose tray can handle 150 sheets. Connectivity is via hi-speed USB 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet. Powered by a 525MHz processor the Dell C2660dn runs on 512MB of memory. The control panel is a simplified small display screen on top of the printer.


With its excellent print speed and high paper capacity, which is upgradeable to 950 sheets with an optional 550 sheet tray, two-sided printing (Duplex) is automatic helping save time. There are plenty of security features and support for mobile printing from Dell, Google Cloud Print and Apple Air Print.


Graphics and text look smooth and sharp when printed on plain and specialty paper. Toner cartridges are available in compatible and genuine, with an extra high capacity black Dell C2660dn toner that makes printing monochrome documents even cheaper. High capacity colour toner cartridges are also available for the Dell C2660dn printer model.

Major printer manufacturers form ‘Mopria’ mobile printing alliance

As the Smartphone and Tablet industry continues to expand and the computing industry has  now   gone beyond the desktop PC, the technology to print from handheld devices has fallen behind. But, a new alliance of printer manufacturers, including Hewlett-Packard, Canon, Samsung, and Xerox, called Mopria, hopes to change all that. The Alliance announced the formation of Mopria on September 24. It believes it will make printing from devices much easier with newly developed interfaces that give mobile operating systems more simplified printing software and allow apps to draw on that ability. The Mopria technology will also govern printer technology so print jobs can sent by Wi-Fi Direct wireless networking or by tapping a printer with a phone that supports near-field communications (NFC).
